Multiple Asteroids of Varying Sizes Approaching Earth, NASA Warns

NASA's asteroid tracker has identified an asteroid, designated as 2018 NW, the size of 100 hot dogs, which is set to pass by Earth on July 10. Another larger asteroid, 2023 LN1, estimated to be around 100 meters in diameter, will also pass by on the same day. While there is no risk of a catastrophic impact, NASA estimates that 2018 NW could come as close as 110,000 kilometers to Earth. However, it is unlikely to cause significant damage and would likely burn up in the atmosphere. Scientists are making progress in planetary defense, with the Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART) Mission showcasing a promising method to alter an asteroid's orbit.
