Caltech scientists have developed a novel 3D printing technique called hydrogel-infusion additive manufacturing (HIAM) that allows precise control over the shape and composition of metallic alloys, enabling the creation of stronger, more resilient materials with customizable properties, such as copper-nickel alloys, by fine-tuning their microstructure and composition.
