Mysterious New Hairy Species Discovered on Island Mountain

A researcher exploring Mount Wuzhi in China discovered a new species of butterfly, Celaenorrhinus qianhanae, with distinct wing patterns, genitalia, and DNA. The dark brown creature, named after the researcher's daughter, has unique wing markings and dense yellow hairs on its hindwing. Found only on Hainan Island, the species was identified at an elevation of about 2,620 feet and is characterized by its robust, curved penis and fan-shaped genital organs. This discovery adds to the thousands of new species found each year and highlights the ongoing exploration of biodiversity.
