Kansas anglers have a rare opportunity to fish in the shade of a solar eclipse on April 8, as the state will experience an unnatural darkness due to the celestial event. Wildlife behavior is expected to change during the eclipse, potentially making fish more active and easier to catch. Fisheries Division Director Bryan Sowards suggests that nocturnal fish species like walleye, saugeye, and channel catfish may come out in force during the eclipse, while bass, known for favoring low light conditions, might also be more abundant.
