"Free Solar Eclipse Glasses Offered by New York State"

New York State officials are offering free ISO-certified solar eclipse glasses at various locations, including rest stops and train stations, ahead of the near-total solar eclipse passing over Long Island on April 8. Residents can pick up to two pairs per person to safely view the eclipse, which is expected to block out more than 90% of the sun's light. Governor Kathy Hochul emphasized the importance of providing resources for New Yorkers to safely experience this rare event and warned against potential fraud when purchasing eclipse glasses.
