Weekend Snow Swath Set to Hit North Georgia and Metro Atlanta

A weekend winter storm will bring accumulating snow to north Georgia and metro Atlanta, moving in from the north to south with heavier bands in the east. Snow totals are 3-4 inches from Gainesville to Athens and into the mountains, about 1-2 inches in most of the metro, with some isolated spots near 6 inches. Timing ranges from 1–6 am in the far north to mid‑morning in the south metro; a winter storm warning remains in effect for north Georgia.
