Southeast Alabama Braces for Brief Snow Risk Under Sunday Advisory

Henry and Houston counties in southeastern Alabama are under a Winter Weather Advisory from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday as rain moves into the southern half of the state and may mix with or briefly change to snow east of I-65 and south of I-85 between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m., ending by noon. Snow accumulations are expected to be light and mainly in grassy areas, with no major roadway impacts anticipated since afternoon highs reach the 50s. Overnight Sunday, temperatures dip to about 30–35°F with a potential for a few slick spots on bridges if standing water freezes at 32°F; Sunday afternoon warms again into the 50s, melting any remaining snow. The worst-case scenario of brief, slushy patches is possible but not expected.
