Midwest Braces for Heavy Snow and Strong Winds in Late Winter Storm

A winter storm is expected to hit Minnesota and western Wisconsin late Saturday through Monday, bringing heavy snow and strong winds. Snow totals from Thursday into Friday morning ranged from 2.5 to 7.5 inches in the Twin Cities metro area. The storm is forecasted to bring mainly snow to much of Minnesota and parts of western Wisconsin, with rain or a rain/snow mix in eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. A winter storm watch is in effect from Sunday morning through Monday morning for much of Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin, with heavy snow accumulations and difficult travel conditions expected.
