Mammoth Mountain in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains has received record-breaking snowfall, with more than 700 inches for the season, surpassing the previous record set in the 2010-2011 season. The ski resort has recorded 870 inches at the base of the Main Lodge, which will stretch the ski season through at least July. Wind gusts at the ski resort were reported to be as high as 98 mph, and another 30 inches of snow fell in the last 24 hours with more snow expected this weekend and early next week.
