Tragedy strikes as two young siblings swept away in California river, one found dead and the other still missing.

An eight-year-old girl died and her four-year-old brother is missing after they were swept away in the Kings River in central California. The children, their mother, and an adult friend entered the water off the shoreline about a mile down from the Pine Flat Dam. The little girl's body was found an hour later, and a search for the four-year-old continued overnight and into Monday. The Kings and San Joaquin Rivers have been closed to recreational users since March 14 due to dangerous conditions caused by rapidly melting mountain snows.
