Decades-Long Mystery Solved: Arizona Body Identified as California Veteran

The body of a man found in a desert area in Arizona in 1996 has been identified as Sherman George, an Army veteran from the Los Angeles area. George, who was between 30 and 40 years old, died from a gunshot wound to the head and was buried in a shallow grave. Despite multiple attempts to identify him, his identity remained a mystery until advanced DNA testing by Othram, a forensic research company, revealed his true identity. George was estranged from his family and had never been reported missing. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the case to contact the Mohave County Sheriff's Office Detective Division.
