Geologist Predicted Draper Homes Would Collapse on Hillside.

A senior geologist with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, Ben Erickson, was not surprised by the Draper home collapse over the weekend, as the area has been known for having geologic material that is prone to landsliding. Erickson saw a telltale sign of melting snowpack as the cause of the slide. Homebuyers are advised to reach out to state geologists for advice before purchasing a property.
