Trump Appoints Covid Lockdown Critic Jay Bhattacharya as NIH Director

President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Jay Bhattacharya, a Covid lockdown sceptic and co-author of the Great Barrington Declaration, to lead the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Bhattacharya, a Stanford-trained physician and economist, is known for opposing widespread lockdowns during the pandemic. Trump's health team also includes other controversial figures like Robert Kennedy Jr., Marty Makary, and Dave Weldon, all of whom have expressed skepticism about the mainstream public health response to Covid-19. These nominations require Senate confirmation.
