Tammy Baldwin Wins Third Term in Tight Wisconsin Senate Race

Democratic U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin declared victory in the Wisconsin Senate race after absentee ballots from Milwaukee gave her a nearly 16,000-vote lead over Republican Eric Hovde. With 97% of precincts reporting, Baldwin had 49.2% of the vote compared to Hovde's 48.7%. Baldwin's win would mark the first time since 1968 that a Wisconsin Senate candidate won while the opposing party's presidential nominee carried the state. The race saw over $240 million spent on ads, with Baldwin's campaign maintaining a slight spending advantage overall.
