Republican Congressman George Santos from New York has filed paperwork for a 2024 reelection bid, despite facing intense scrutiny over his embellished resume and financial questions. The filing with the Federal Elections Commission (FEC) does not guarantee that Santos will run for reelection, but he has previously stated that he plans to serve out his term in Congress. The House Ethics Committee and several lawmakers from both parties have called on Santos to resign. The FEC had asked Santos to respond by March 14 regarding his campaign's nearly $28,000 in contributions and almost $43,000 in expenses following the November election.
