The recent conviction of four members of the Proud Boys for seditious conspiracy has overshadowed the fact that both the former leader, Enrique Tarrio, and as many as eight other Proud Boys were FBI informants, helping law enforcement to target left-wing activists. Shockingly, only two news outlets mentioned this fact, potentially obscuring the FBI's failure to prevent the Capitol riot and its historical fixation on left-wing protests. The media's failure to mention the FBI's link to the Proud Boys ensures that law enforcement agencies face no accountability for their stunning failures on the day, ironically making a repeat of the Capitol riot far more likely.
