Minnesota House approves recreational marijuana legalization bill.

The Minnesota House has passed the final version of the recreational marijuana bill with a 73-57 vote, which now heads to the Senate for voting before the end of the legislative session on May 22. The bill includes a state tax of 10% on top of sales taxes, with 80% going to the state to fund the Office of Cannabis Management and 20% going to local governments. If passed, legal marijuana possession in Minnesota will begin on August 1, and the state may issue retail licenses in 12-16 months. Governor Tim Walz has previously expressed his support for the bill.
