Legal Battle Ensues Over Confederate Memorial at Arlington Cemetery

A federal judge has issued a temporary restraining order preventing the removal of a Confederate memorial at Arlington National Cemetery. The order came in response to a lawsuit filed by a group called Defend Arlington, affiliated with Save Southern Heritage Florida, accusing the Army of violating regulations in seeking a hasty removal of the memorial. The cemetery had begun work to remove the memorial before the order was issued, but it remains in place for now. A hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday to further address the issue.
