Jimmy Carter's Good Spirits Despite Hospice Care

Former President Jimmy Carter, who entered end-of-life care at home three months ago, remains in good spirits as he visits with family, follows public discussion of his legacy, and receives updates on The Carter Center's humanitarian work around the world, according to his grandson. Despite entering hospice care, Carter is enjoying regular servings of ice cream and will turn 99 in October. The former president had a small cancerous mass removed from his liver in 2015 and announced in 2016 that he needed no further treatment since an experimental drug had eliminated any sign of cancer.
