Florida Supreme Court to Decide on Recreational Marijuana Ballot Proposal.

A proposed recreational-marijuana ballot initiative has been submitted to the Florida Supreme Court by the political committee Smart & Safe Florida. Attorney General Ashley Moody has signaled that she will argue that the proposal doesn't meet legal requirements to go before voters in 2024. The initiative needs approval from the Supreme Court and at least 891,523 validated petition signatures to put the measure on the November 2024 ballot. The proposal would allow people 21 or older to possess, purchase, or use marijuana products and marijuana accessories for non-medical personal consumption by smoking, ingestion, or otherwise.
