Conservative Appeals Court to Hear Abortion Pill Ban Appeal

The New Orleans-based 5th US Circuit Court of Appeals will hear an appeal on Wednesday in the abortion pill case, which could set the stage for how the Supreme Court will approach the legal dispute. Anti-abortion activists are asking the courts to pull the main drug used in medication abortions off the market, which puts in jeopardy access nationwide to medication abortion, including in states where abortion remains legal. The 5th Circuit is considered one of the most conservative in the country and has consistently ruled against the Biden Justice Department.
