Landslide disrupts California rail service and forces home evacuations.

A landslide in Southern California has forced the evacuation of nearby residences, closed a historic cultural center, and halted rail service in the area. Falling debris halted rail service on shoreline tracks at the base of the cliff that are used by Metrolink and Amtrak’s Pacific Surfliner. The cause of the slide has yet to be determined, but it follows a winter of extreme rainfall.
