Outdoor Events Canceled Across Midwest Due to Poor Air Quality

Due to worsening air quality in the Chicago area, several outdoor events have been canceled or moved indoors. The Chicago Park District has canceled their "Movies in the Park" event and is working to move other programs indoors. Evanston has closed its beaches and canceled the Starlight Concert. The Museum of Contemporary Art's concert has been moved inside with limited seating. The air quality index has reached "very unhealthy" levels, and residents are advised to limit outdoor activity and wear masks. Prolonged exposure to this air is equivalent to smoking half-a-pack of cigarettes.
