"Scientists Decode Pink Floyd Song Using Brain Activity"

Researchers have successfully reconstructed a snippet of the Pink Floyd song "Another Brick in the Wall, Part 1" from neural recordings of 29 neurosurgical patients. Using electrocorticography (ECoG) electrodes implanted on the patients' cortical surfaces, the researchers employed regression-based decoding models to accurately reconstruct the auditory stimulus. The study revealed that both brain hemispheres are involved in music processing, with the right hemisphere's superior temporal gyrus (STG) playing a crucial role. The findings could have implications for brain-computer interface applications and improve communication tools for individuals with speech disabilities.
