Psychopathic Men Mimic Prosocial Traits to Attract Women

Men with higher levels of psychopathic personality traits are more likely to mimic prosocial personality traits, such as honesty and agreeableness, in order to appear more appealing to women in dating scenarios. The study found that psychopathic traits were associated with significant increases in these personality traits when men were instructed to present themselves in a way that would be most attractive to the woman in a dating profile video. However, associations between psychopathic traits and measures of mimicry were only marginal.
