Advancements in messenger RNA technology have opened up new possibilities for vaccines beyond infectious diseases like Covid-19. Moderna's personalized cancer vaccine, which received Breakthrough Therapy Designation from the FDA, is expected to be highly effective and save lives. The company is also developing a potential vaccine for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which received Breakthrough Therapy Designation and was found to be over 80% effective in preventing RSV symptoms in people over 60.
