Legionnaires' disease outbreak at Niles LA Fitness

Two cases of Legionnaires' disease have been linked to an L.A. Fitness location in Niles, Illinois. The gym has closed its pool, spa, showers, and steam room after Legionella bacteria was found in a hot tub. The Illinois Department of Public Health is investigating the gym, and the gym is cooperating with officials. Legionnaires' disease is a serious lung infection that can be deadly, and although not contagious, it can be contracted by breathing in small droplets of Legionella-contaminated water.
