Increased Risk of Heart Disease in Trans Women Taking Hormones: Study Reveals

A new study published in the European Journal of Endocrinology has found that trans women taking gender-affirming hormones are up to 95% more likely to suffer from heart disease compared to men. The study also revealed that all transgender individuals, regardless of their assigned sex at birth or gender identity, are at a significantly increased risk of cardiovascular diseases such as heart attacks, strokes, high blood pressure, and high blood fat and cholesterol levels. Trans men taking testosterone were also found to have a higher risk of heart disease compared to women. The study highlights the importance of further research into the effects of hormone therapy and the need for comprehensive healthcare for transgender individuals.
