Lady Gaga's Controversial Role as Pfizer's Nurtec Spokesperson

Lady Gaga's partnership with Pfizer's Nurtec ODT migraine treatment has sparked controversy among fans, with some criticizing her for promoting a pharmaceutical brand. The Grammy Award-winning singer revealed she was diagnosed with migraines at 14 and narrated a Nurtec ODT commercial where she performs onstage during her 2022 “Chromatica Ball” world tour. Pfizer recalled more than 4.2 million units of the Nurtec 75-milligram tablets on March 16, 2023, because the packaging wasn’t child-resistant and posed a poison risk. However, Pfizer believes that the collaboration will help raise awareness of migraines and inspire those living with the condition to have conversations with their healthcare providers about the best way to manage their condition.
