The Biden administration is reportedly considering raising tariffs on some Chinese goods, including electric vehicles, as part of a review of Trump-era duties on roughly $300 billion of Chinese goods. The administration is also contemplating lowering tariffs on certain Chinese consumer products that are not seen as strategically important. Lawmakers have previously argued that the current import tariffs on Chinese-made vehicles are insufficient.
