Huawei Expands EV Ventures, Forges Partnerships with Automakers

Huawei is expanding its presence in the electric vehicle (EV) market by partnering with traditional automakers in China to develop new car brands. While Huawei does not manufacture cars, it sells tech components such as its Harmony OS operating system and driver-assist products. The company is currently working with at least four automakers, including Changan, Chery, BAIC Motor, and JAC Motor, to create new EV brands. Chinese automakers are eager to leverage Huawei's technology to enhance their products and compete in the growing EV market. Huawei's revenue from its consumer business has declined due to U.S. restrictions, but its intelligent automotive solutions, including tech for new energy vehicles, have seen some growth.
