Eli Lilly Takes Legal Action to Stop Fake Mounjaro Imports

Eli Lilly has filed a lawsuit against 11 online pharmacies, including companies from the US, UK, Spain, China, and Poland, to prevent the import, sale, and distribution of counterfeit products claiming to contain the active ingredient in its diabetes drug Mounjaro. The lawsuit, which will be taken to the US International Trade Commission, accuses the online pharmacies of trademark infringement, false association with Lilly, and making misleading statements. Testing revealed that one of the products purported to contain the main ingredient of Mounjaro was actually "nothing more than sugar alcohol." Eli Lilly is the only company with FDA approval to sell tirzepatide products.
