Biglaw Firm Sues Failed SPAC for $8M in Legal Fees.

White & Case, a Biglaw firm, has filed an $8.3 million lawsuit against former client Colonnade Acquisition Corp. II for unpaid legal bills for three years of work. The client claimed it was not required to pay for the work as it never successfully entered into a business combination with another company. However, White & Case cited engagement letters that made it clear legal billing would be based on time spent, not contingency. The lawsuit includes claims for breach of contract and quantum meruit.
