Nationwide Spinach Recall: Listeria Outbreak Sparks Concerns

Fresh Express and Publix have voluntarily recalled their fresh bagged spinach products in seven states due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. The recall was initiated after routine sampling detected the presence of the bacteria in a single package of spinach. Although no illnesses have been reported, the FDA advises consumers to discard any recalled products. Listeria can cause severe illness, particularly in pregnant individuals, older adults, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms may include diarrhea, fever, and muscle aches.
