Anchor Brewing reduces national distribution and cancels popular Christmas Ale.

Anchor Brewing, known for its role in the craft beer movement, will no longer sell its portfolio outside of California, according to a company representative. The decision comes as Sapporo, which purchased the brewery in 2017, has decided to cease production of Anchor Brewing's historic Christmas Ale due to its time-intensive and costly brewing and packaging requirements. The representative noted that 70% of Anchor's beers are sold within California, but the move is likely to disappoint fans of the brewery outside of the state.
