US Offshore Wind Farms See First Steel in the Water Milestone

The first monopile foundation has been installed at South Fork Wind, New York's first offshore wind farm, to support the project's offshore substation. The substation, designed and built by Kiewit Offshore Services, will sit on the monopile foundation and will be installed offshore by New York union workers. The project remains on track to become the first US utility-scale offshore wind farm to be completed in federal waters when it begins operations by the end of this year.
