10 States with the Best and Worst Economies for Residents in 2023

CNBC's annual competitiveness study, America's Top States for Business, has ranked the top 10 states with the best economies for residents. Delaware, Indiana, Idaho, South Carolina, Utah, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Texas, and Florida have been identified as states well-equipped to handle economic challenges. Factors such as overall economic growth, job growth, state finances, housing market health, and the presence of major corporate headquarters were considered in the rankings. Florida emerged as the top state with the strongest economy, followed by Texas and North Carolina.
