Stellantis Urges Owners of 2003 Dodge Ram Pickups to Stop Driving After Takata Airbag Death

Stellantis has issued a do-not-drive order for approximately 84,000 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup trucks that have not yet been repaired for faulty Takata airbags. This comes after a death caused by a passenger-side inflator in a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500, marking the 26th death linked to defective Takata airbags. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) urges owners to get their airbags replaced immediately, as the risk of injury or death increases with age. The NHTSA previously issued a similar order for BMWs in May 2023. Owners can check if their vehicle is affected by visiting the NHTSA's website and entering their VIN.
