Geoffrey Hinton, known as the "godfather of artificial intelligence," believes that AI's advancement could be comparable to "the Industrial Revolution, or electricity ... or maybe the wheel." Hinton's machine learning ideas are used to create all kinds of outputs, including deepfake photos, videos and audio, leaving those who study misinformation worried about how the tools can be used. While some worry that AI could take a lot of jobs, Hinton's mentee Nick Frosst believes that it won't replace workers, but change their days.
