"Nurse Accused of Infecting Patients with Hepatitis C through Reused Needles"

Cora Weberg, a former nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Washington, has been charged five years after allegedly infecting a dozen patients with a genetically similar strain of Hepatitis C. Prosecutors claim that Weberg injected herself with narcotics meant for patients and then used the same needle on them. She has been charged with tampering with consumer products and is expected to plead guilty. Weberg, who was reportedly dealing with depression at the time, confessed to stealing drugs and had a plan to end her life. Although there is no conclusive genetic link between Weberg and the infected patients, she faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison if convicted.
