"Kamala Harris' Africa Tour: Empowering Women and Strengthening Ties"
Vice President Kamala Harris is set to unveil a $1 billion initiative to promote women’s economic empowerment in Ghana, which will expand access to digital services, provide job training and support entrepreneurs. The money is expected to come from a mix of nonprofit foundations, private companies and the federal government. Harris has focused her efforts on Ghana’s economic development and its youth, meeting with civil rights leaders, businesspeople, and thousands of young people. She is the most senior member of the Biden administration to visit Africa, as Washington looks to build partnerships and bolster Africa’s growth amid global rivalry over the continent.
