Costco has removed a brand of protein bars from its shelves in eight states, including California, after the maker, Wellness Natural USA, issued a voluntary recall due to trace amounts of undeclared cashew nuts in its Simply Protein Peanut Butter Chocolate Crispy Bars. People with a severe allergy to cashew nuts are at risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the recalled bars. Customers can return the entire variety pack for a full refund from Costco.
