Celebrating Local Heroes: Highlights from Veterans Day Parades in Monroe County, NYC, and Riverton
The second annual Monroe County Veterans Day Parade honored and celebrated the more than 32,000 veterans living in the county, with local marching bands, law enforcement, and other groups parading through the streets. A special service was also held at the Vietnam Memorial in remembrance of all those who served. Families of veterans expressed gratitude for the recognition of their local heroes, with Sheriff Todd Baxter, an Army veteran, serving as the parade's grand marshal.
