France dissolves climate group accused of eco-terrorism.
Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg has voiced her support for Uprisings of the Earth (SLT), a French climate group that was shut down by the government for allegedly encouraging violence during protests. Thunberg, who was in Paris for a summit on green finance, called for the right to protest to be defended. SLT has condemned the shutdown and called for protests in dozens of cities across France. The group is part of a new wave of more radical climate activist groups that say direct action is needed in response to insufficient efforts to combat climate change and global warming.
