The victim, who suffered multiple injuries including rib and pelvic injuries, was accused of staring at the attacker before being pushed. So far this year, ten people have been pushed onto subway tracks, a decrease from last year. Mayor Eric Adams has implemented a strategy to address homelessness and mental health issues by involuntarily taking individuals who appear to be mentally ill and a danger to themselves into custody for psychiatric evaluations.
