
Rev. Robert Dowd appointed as President of University of Notre Dame
The University of Notre Dame has announced that Rev. Robert A. Dowd, C.S.C., will be the next president of the university, succeeding Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., on July 1, 2024. Father Dowd, a Michigan City native and Notre Dame graduate, currently serves as vice president and associate provost for interdisciplinary initiatives at the university. He is known for his work in political science and his dedication to Catholic social teaching. Father Dowd will spend the next seven months working closely with Father Jenkins before assuming the presidency.
