"Cisco Patches Critical Vulnerability in Unity Connection Software"

Cisco has released software updates to fix a critical vulnerability (CVE-2024-20272) in its Unity Connection software that could allow attackers to execute arbitrary commands on the system. "Critical Unity Connection Bug Allows Attackers to Gain Root Access, Cisco Warns"

Cisco has patched a critical security flaw in its Unity Connection software that could allow unauthenticated attackers to gain root privileges on unpatched devices by uploading arbitrary files to the system. The company also addressed ten medium-severity vulnerabilities in multiple products, including a command injection flaw in the web-based management interface of Cisco's WAP371 Wireless Access Point. While proof-of-concept exploit code is available for one of these flaws, Cisco will not release firmware updates for the affected device, advising customers to migrate to a newer model.
