Vishnu Deo Sai Becomes Chhattisgarh CM, Promises to Prioritize Tribal Community
During the poll campaign in Chhattisgarh, Union Home Minister Amit Shah hinted that Vishnu Deo Sai, who has now been named the state's next Chief Minister, could be headed for a higher position. Shah's pitch played a crucial role in the BJP's victory in the tribal-dominated Sarguja district, where they won all 14 seats. Sai will be the first tribal Hindu to become Chhattisgarh CM, and his appointment reflects the BJP's focus on winning over important constituencies through support from women, OBCs, and tribals. The BJP won 18 out of 29 seats reserved for STs in the state.
