Seniors Lead Nationwide Climate Protest Against Big Banks.
Older climate activists, part of the Rocking Chair Rebellion organized by Third Act, protested outside four major banks in downtown Washington for 24 hours, calling on Chase, Wells Fargo, Citibank, and Bank of America to stop financing fossil fuel projects. The protests were part of over 100 climate actions staged across the country by Third Act, a protest group for people aged 60 and older, co-founded by Bill McKibben. The goal was to urge people to pull their money out of the oil-funding banks and to pressure bank executives to take notice.
