
Jeff Bezos Invests in AI Chipmaker Tenstorrent, Rival to Nvidia
AI hardware startup Tenstorrent has raised $693 million in a Series D funding round, valuing the company at over $2.6 billion. The round was led by Samsung Securities and AFW Partners, with participation from investors like Hyundai and Jeff Bezos' Bezos Expeditions. The Toronto-based company plans to use the funds to expand its engineering team and develop AI training servers. Tenstorrent aims to release a new AI processor every two years and has secured customer contracts worth nearly $150 million, positioning itself as a competitor to Nvidia in the AI chip market.
